4. As for the song title, "Wowie Zowie" is the exclamatory expression of Suzy Creamcheese, the Mothers' characterized fictional groupie. She utters it at the beginning of "Ian Underwood Whips It Out" (on Uncle Meat) to enhance the sexual connotations of the saxophonist's statement that he is the "straight member of the group" (one of many examples of Zappa's love for conceptual continuity).

8. This was the LP that brought Zappa some national name recognition, albeit as "leader" of a West Coast freak band called "The Mothers of Invention". I bought the LP in because I had heard about them "through the grapevine" as a HS kid in NYC, and because of the far-out looking cover - I listened to it and it was just weird - way over my head at the time/5().
